Not 100% "finished", and this is only 1 side as it will be being printed up in high gloss, but I've so far worked at this damn thing for an accumulative 8 1/2 hours (yes, i'm serious... talk about writers block...) - so, for TONIGHT? I'm done...

He's an anomaly in my life that I'm not certain I will ever understand.
In some ways, he's the polar opposite of myself. He never learned to just let go. He's always been the quiet one, unlike myself whom, to quote him, "could make friends with a brick wall." He's always been comfortable on the ground while I've never been comfortable unless I were flying...
And in other ways, I am my father, 30 years younger...
In high school, my father was the white kid who listened to motown. He had long hair. He marched to the beat of a different drummer, at least for his time. Funny how he had so much trouble understanding me when *I* was in high school...
Today? He's likely closest friend. He's proud of me, even when I don't know how to be proud of myself. He doesn't know how to take care of himself, so he tries to make up for it by taking care of everyone else around him. This will kill him someday, perhaps someday soon unfortunately. I'm not certain how I'm going to cope without him -- but that's not something I'll worry about until the day comes...
My father kicks ass, and in a lot of ways - taught me how to be a man (or at least a better one). Every day I try to be a little bit better than I was yesterday. I frequently think on some level - I'm doing this for him...

O.K., I know lots of friends are looking for roommates...
An old friend e-mailed me last night saying one of their friends is apartment hunting. This is the e-mail they sent me:
"I'm basically looking to share a place with one or two other people. Doesn't matter if male or female as long as they're cool and keep living space tidy. I would prefer someone who has a similar schedule as mine, aka not up till 6am.
I'd like a place with some character to it, something "quaint" for lack of a better word. I don't want some generic community type of place. I'm looking for something that has a nice porch/backyard area i can put some plants. pool access would be nice but not necessary.
I'd really like a room/place for like the $300-400 range. $450 per month is pretty much my max and anything under $300 is obviously awesome. "

The last 24 hours have been interesting for me.
In searching for local Atlanta bands that would be appropriate for the Aug 29th bill, I've come across a couple that I've personally taken to...
- Attention System
- Feeding Fingers
- Entertainme.nt (Actually have been familiar with 'em, but why don't I listen to them more???)
I often worry that the average person doesn't know what it feels like to fall in love with a song. That most people don't know what it really feels like to have a song engulf you with emotion...
Even worse - sometimes I fear that I momentarily forget myself..? |

I found this to be so amazingly awesome that I am forced to repost it:
"So Nathan and I are walking through Madison together and he has a long pony tail and is wearing sunglasses. "I have to disguise myself these days" he says to me. I turn back around and he is now wearing a sleeveless denim jacket with a fur lining..."The chicks dig this." he says. At this point three girls run up to us and ask for his autograph. He politely sings them turns around and walks off... One of the girls leans over to me and says,"check out that ass.... isnt that an awesome ass?" I just sort of shake my head and turn around. The next thing I know we are at the Inferno and he is getting ready to go on stage and play a set. alekto gets on the stage and introduces aesthetic who is on his international tour for his new industrial album. He takes the stage and begins to do gangster rap...really well. He is in fact a lyrical gangster....In the middle of his set he stops to take a call from leiseengel... they end the call with a bunch of cutesy kissy noises and then I woke up....."
The only thing more amazing is that that is the *exact* same dream *I* have no less than once a week! :-P |
